The living room gives spectacular views of the sea and the opposite shore, where the city of Turku stands.
The basis for the design of the building was to ensure that it interacted with the environment.
The site presented some problems, being uneven and having a height difference across it of 11m. To accommodate this, the villa was constructed on two basement floors.
The chosen material for the surfaces is untreated copper, which will weather and patinate over time.
One eye-catching aspect of the building is the copper frame facing the sea, whilst the courtyard side of the wall is completely covered with copper.
