The layout of ground floor is affected by the passage into the yard. The layout of the building follows the structure with three tracts and two-arm staircase placed in the axis. Originally was calculated with two apartments per floor. During the years was the clear layout division disrupted by the various adjustments.
Reconstruction of the house consisted in a return to the original layout and restore the original character of the apartments. On the staircase landing was built elevator. Another significant adjustment was the extension of the balconies on the courtyard facade. Facade restoration respected the original structure of the facade surfaces. The facade was deprived of modern plaster and was restored partially damaged morphology and stucco patterns.
The extension of the house includes two new duplex apartments on the level of the original attic. The concept of the extension is based on the context of the surrounding buildings and efforts to keep the street oriented roof landscape in a „calm“ state without skylights. Towards the courtyard, we aimed to evaluate the ideal southern orientation for buildings used for living and express it adequately simultaneous, openness and peopled roof landscape in courtyard parts.
The facade of the extension oriented to the courtyard deeply recedes, in fact it is hidden behind the existing roof cornice and new terraces. Glazed facades are made of lightweight design, sheet metal cladding of natural copper, to emphasize the lightness of the superstructure.
