Operacion Amiral Mouchez

Flint

Close to the Parc Montsouris, in the XIIIth district, Paris Habitat manages the Amiral Mouchez site, a set of 15 social housing buildings organized around a vast green space.  This urban enclave densification and its neglected gaps requalification is the topic of this operation which associates 3 distinct programs : a retirement home, a digital equipment and 52 student accommodation occupying , on one part, a 13 storey Housing Tower as well as a new extention which aligns itself with the rue des Longues Raies.

The retirement home volume is adorned with a coating of white enamelled bricks, punctuated by gildedcopper framed vertical bays. In the same alignment, the student residence repeat this Gold coloured theme through the copper and aluminum alloy of its lozenges cladding.

The latter takes a slightly coppered gold colour and a brilliant finish in order to achieve a bright and vibrating signal in the street.

The Residence offers a gable pan through, to play with the down perspective of Amiral Mouchez street.

Rounded corners add softened edges to this non-frontal aspect.

White is the generic color to which we added a sparkling enhancement of Gold plated colour.

The overall formed by the retirement home and the residence forms both a single architectural entity, bound by the gold colour running from one building to another but can be read as two separated facilites due to the predominance of white for the retirement home and gold for the residence.
