Villa Maria Theresa building was designed in 2012-2013. Its construction started in 2013 and ended in April 2015. It is the work of Francis PARENT architect ARCHICUBsociety.
The developer is Guy Bronner, who owned the land in the center of Strasbourg. The architect and project owner have developed this project together.
The 12 apartments in the building have a completely free plan. This enabled the architect to design fully customized apartments to each owners tastes. The lack of vertical drops and false ceilings in all rooms have given a great freedom for the interior design.
The roof of the building was installed using natural copper sheets. It consists of a cylindrical central volume and two spherical end caps. All sheets are assembled with double agrafure recovery. They are a single length ridge to the lower shore.
All accessories such as gutters and chimney stacks were handmade to the designs of the architect.
The frame supporting the roof is metal and the support for the copper sheet is pine boards laid diagonally. The building structure is made of reinforced concrete. The facades are clad in stone agraffées Verona.
The facilities of the apartments are of very high technical level: electrical installation with widespread automation, heating and air conditioning with individual heat pumps, sanitary installation with electronic Rainfall showers, toilet cleansing
The building is fully accessible to people in wheelchairs.
Car and bicycle parking is exclusively built in the basement to avoid Parking around the building.
