Krasnodar Youth Academy of Football, Russia

Maxim Rymar - M R architecture & Interiors

The building complex of the Krasnodar Youth Academy of Football is located in a newly developed district of Krasnodar city.  The aim of the project is to create a functional and harmonious environment for children’s living and training.  The complex consists of a min building, which includes a school, sport halls, swimming pool, library, school club, medical centre and 8 buildings for student residences.  An alley with residences on either side ends with a square with a small garden, bounded by the main building on the east side.

A large number of training fields, shaping the monotonous landscape, set the location of the residences and the main building on an artificial hill.  This location provided great visual variety of the landscape and allowed technical floors of buildings to be hidden underground.  Because of this, the buildings appear to be 2 or 3 storey and create a development on a human scale.

Spatial composition based on a combination of simply shaped volumes.  The contrast of smooth, colour-concise surfaces is the main means of expressing the architectural facades.  Surfaces are coated with pre-cast concrete panels and pre-patinated copper.  The colours used on the buildings are drawn from the colours of FC Krasnodar.
