In the main building, the ground floor has a welcoming open space where small exhibitions can take place. Also on the ground floor you can find a classroom, a kitchen, a games room and the toilets. On the 1st floor are the offices and a space for holding meetings.
The roof of the main building takes on a striking form, complimenting the discreet design of the project. The inspiration for the roof comes from the Ginkgo Biloba, a tree much associated with the Japanese temples. The spiral roof, covered with untreated copper will, with the time, change colour, evolving from red copper to green patina. The project was created by René van Zuuk, architect and winner of the call to tender for the Griftsteede.
