The architectural design for the housing development concept was selected from a competition, organized by the Krakow branch of the Association of Polish Architects (SARP). The design combines European architectural standards and functional solutions which will serve the needs of the future residents.
The whole development consists of five multi-tenant, 7-storey buildings with ground floors reserved for residential and commercial use. The simple white facades interwoven with belts of windows finished in graphite and warm grey tones, create a strong contrasting and dynamic pattern that gives a touch of elegance to the residential community. The copper cladding for the top storey adds a distinguishing touch that fits remarkably well within the architectural context of Krakow.
The housing development will be provided with a number of functional solutions enabling sustainable use of natural resources, like the outdoor photovoltaic lighting installation and rainwater harvesting for irrigation of soft landscaped areas. Sports and recreational areas, such as a playground, sports fields, paved pathways, will enable the residents to spend leisure time with their family and friends.
A shopping arcade, situated on the exterior side of the housing development, will facilitate the residents' access to basic commercial and retail services and at the same time provide a 'fence' in order to increase the security of this residential area.
