Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, Berlin, Germany

nsh Architekten

On october 30 of 2012 the new Turkish embassy in Berlin was opened by His Excellency the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

nsh architekten designed a building that incorporates the different cultural parts of Turkey: A modern, European house with historical roots.

The volume of the building is divided into two parts - the Palace and the City - representing traditional hospitality and European values. Between them the Bosphorus - the foyer that you enter through the main grand portal with the copper Girih-pattern relief.

The foyer has Girih-printed glass-walls and a sculptured stair that leads you on top of the building to the roof terrace with a view over Berlin.
