Multidisciplinary Health Centre, Rambervillers, France

aGVA

The multidisciplinary health centre is located to the South of the commune of Rambervillers (Vosges), on  a new commercial area on the site of the former station, now disused. The issue of the community of Communes of the Region of Rambervillers is the reduced availability of medical support; to overcome this situation, it wished to create a building comprising a medical interdisciplinary (General practitioners, Podiatrist, physiotherapist, speech therapist and orthoptist).

The building was thought of as an element boosting the existing urban landscape, both for its social role and public interest (care offer) that planning, through the development of an existing heritage abandoned (former station).

The project fits harmoniously into site with pre-existing materials in the city (a brick, copper) while retaining a contemporary architecture.

The building, in R + 1, consists of a base in brick siding from a site distended, topped by a volume copper dressed cantilever sit the building, marking the entrance.

This volume consists of copper in standing seam reinforcing the verticality of the chassis while reducing the whole of the floor over the minerality of the base.

A copper mesh is installed in double skin on the west facade in floor, filtering sunlight and establishing a distance between the intimise inside and the city.
