B&B Puerta del Sol Hotel, Madrid, Spain

Luis Vidal + Architects

This smart boutique in Madrid, called B&B Puerta del Sol Hotel, is set in a mid-20th century building in the distinctive street of “Calle Montera”, in one of Madrid´s most vibrant, enchanting and neighborhoods.

In a surface area of 3354,6 sqm, these traditional 4000 sqm -9 story building has excellent facilities.

luis vidal+architects’s fit out project for B&B Puerta del Sol Hotel improves the users experience using Innovation, Perception and Personalisation.

Innovation, with new trends on technology for hotels that improve the arrival experience.
Perception. The ability to be aware of something through the senses.
Personalisation. Customizing, allowing the guests to participate in the hotel design.

The tool for this strategic approach that focuses on the end user and the key moments that experiences during their “customer journey” is the copper.

At the lobby, the main goal is to highlight the stair as a sculptural element. Set in a closed space, copper allows us to express the singularity of the space focusing on the stair and transferring some of the main features we wanted to underline: elegance, high end, colour, singularity and presence.

The game of reflection provided by the copper allows us to magnify the dimensions in a small space. In addition to that, the presence of colour in a neutral environment plays a key role, adding that singularity we are looking for. The outcome is a unique space, where copper traits enrich every element in the room, creating a memorable space.
